About Emma
Dr Emma Black has been with Cascade since its inception in March 2012. Her role principally lies in managing the firm's strategic sales and technology relationships while also working closely with our client support team to cover all aspects of the day-to-day running of the business. Emma is an expert in the savings market and was named Cash Management Woman of the Year in 2020 and Start Up Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2020 Great British Entrepreneur Awards. She is also co-founder of new bank-startup GBB, expected to obtain its banking licence in 2021. Emma is a published academic in the fields of Mergers and Acquisitions, Emerging and Frontier Markets, and Behavioural Finance. In 2013, Emma completed her PhD in Behavioural Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions from Durham University. She holds a First Class degree in Business Finance and a Masters with Distinction in Finance and Investment from Durham University, as well as the CFA Investment Management Certificate and the CISI level 6 Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management. Emma is a committee member of the North East Board for the CISI.
